Indoor Brabant

Last week during the international show in Lier in Belgium Joyce got a phone call to ask if she would like to compete Euro in the international small tour at Indoor Brabant. Of course it was a ‘YES’! What a great opportunity!

So, last Thursday Joyce, Euro and Ivanna travelled to the Brabanthallen in Den Bosch (NLD).

At home a foal could be born any time so Marcel stayed home and drove up and down to coach Joyce when she had to ride.

On Thursday afternoon the vet check was on the program. Euro got green light.

On Friday the Prix St. Georges test was ridden in the Peelhal, a difficult arena where it all is very close and busy.

When Euro entered this arena one moment he thought ‘what is this?’ but once the test started Joyce had the control and it was a good test. Because of the tension the pair lost some points at several exercises but Joyce was very proud of Euro.

The score went up to 69% and in the big field Euro and Joyce finished eighth!

On Saturday morning Joyce and Euro prepared for the freestyle on Inter I level. Now the show was in the big arena! Euro was very excited and there were some big mistakes in the test but Joyce could solve the problems.

‘Riding in this big arena’s you can’t practice at home. Last week in Lier Euro was scared because of the stormy weather so I am very satisfied with his performance here at Indoor Brabant. He only is eight years old and he shows his talents for the Grand Prix. It was a great show!’ Joyce says.

Joyce’s student Danique Swinkels rode at Indoor Brabant on Saturday evening during the international freestyle for ponies. Danique and her Casimir De Luxe did a very good job and came fourth!
Well done!
