Successful show in Deauville!

After a seven hour trip team Beukenvallei arrived on Wednesday morning at the showground of the international show in Deauvill, in France. It is a beautiful and great show!.

After we arrived we unpacked and installed everything and the horses were shortly trained.

On Thursday the vet check was on the program and all three horses got green light. For Euro and Blacky Thursday was a trainings day but Coffeebay already had to be shown in his first test, the Prix St. Georges. It was a very strong and big field which is super for the sport! Coffee did great but he stumbled in the last line and it took a while before he got his balance again as he hit the ground with his knees. So we got a zero for that exercise, we didn't show it so of course a zero but still.... we almost scored 69%! The most important thingh of course, Coffee was okay!

On Friday all three horses had to compete. First it was up to Euro who made his debut at Intermediaire B level. Pfff ... pretty difficult test but the score of almost 68% was good for the second place!
For Coffee it was his second Intermediaire I test which he did without mistakes but he felt not as good at the day before. The score of over 67% was good enough to be qualified for the final on Sunday, the freestyle kur at Inter I level.
Pawarisa and Blacky competed at Junior level. It was their best test so far and that resulted in a PR and almost 65%!

Joyce's horses had a trainings day on Saturday and Pawarisa and Blacky competed in the individual test. They started great but just before the walk the duo was not that focussed anymore and there were a few mistakes. Unfortunately the two were not qualified for the final on Sunday.

Euro was the first of Joyce's horses in the final on Sunday. He was really tensed as next to his ring there was a pony freestyle competition going on. Joyce and Euro made a lot of mistakes, too bad but Marcel and Joyce are very proud of Euro anyway! Euro needed to be tacked up for the prize giving ceremony as he came eighth despite of the faults.

The last to go was Coffeebay... he was so, so good! On Thursday he came 15th and now he climbed up to the fourth position! So proud of him!

I am proud of all three horses, all are inexperienced but did a great job!
