Successful show Denmark!

Last night Marcel and Joyce came back from a great, big and successful show at Helgstrand dressage in Denmark. Joyce has competed Euro at small tour level. The Prix St. Georges and the Intermediaire I had big fields! Joyce's student Danique Swinkels competed her two ponies in Denmark.

The trip to Denmark last over 12 hours and started on a Monday evening. On Tuesday morning the truck stopped at the showground in Uggerhalne. It was a long but good trip.

The stalls were perfect, only the weather was not perfect... It rained a lot.

On Wednesday the vet check was on the program and Euro and the ponies got green light. Unfortunately some horses didn't get the appoval to compete... many horse had to go to the second (and last) check and some horse were not fit to compete at all at this show.

On Thursday morning Danique showed Casimir de Luxe in the nations cup. Danique and Cas did a good job and scored over 70%. The pair finished fourth and this was the best Dutch result.

Then
Danique competed her other pony Golden Saco in the normal CDI. The warming up was good but unfortunately Danique entered the ring a little too late and that means minus 2 percent per judge. So a high score was not possible anymore.

In the evening around 8 Joyce entered the ring aboard Euro. Euro was great! The first part of the test was just awesome and the marks were high. During the walk Euro made a few piaffe steps and there was another mistake in the zigzag unfortunately. The rest of the test was really good so Joyce was happy. Joyce and Euro got
68,8% and were ranked ninth in this big field.

The next day Euro performed at Inter I level. Again he felt great. There were two mistakes in the test: one pirouette, counting twice, and a transition to trot. The rest was good and again the pair got over 68%.

'I am so proud of Euro!
He is doing so well. He performed great two days here in Denmark in this difficult arena which could be a problem in the past but not any more now. He was fully focussed on me. It was a big show and a big field and he only is eight years old. I am so so happy!' Joyce tells.

On the second day D
anique Swinkels scored 68% with both ponies and qualified for the freestyle kur to music with both ponies. Saco's freestyle was on yesterday's program. The kur was good and the score was over 69%. Yesterday Cas had a day off and today his freestyle class is on the program. But Joyce has to compete tomorrow at CH leende in her home town so it was decided to go home after Saco's kur.
