Showboy wins selection ZZ-zwaar!

A dream début for Showboy! Last Sunday Joyce and Showboy have won two tests at ZZ-zwaar level during a selection for the Dutch championships in Almelo, The Netherlands. The pair scored over 71% and over 68% at the level just below small tour.

'It was a long day. We woke up at 5 AM and at 7 AM Marcel and I left to Almelo with Showboy, Vanquisch and Authentic. Fortunately we had three stalls at the show. Vanquisch was the first to go. He was shown at Prix St Georges level. During the warming up he was great to ride and the test went well. We had some small miscommunications and that takes points. But I can say he has made a lot of progression again. We were really happy with him. The score was 66,75%.

Than it was
Authentic's turn. She already thought her new stall was quit impressive. It was her first outdoor show so actually everything impressed her. She was very hot to ride but Authentic was focussed on me. We had several mistakes in the test. Authentic is very inexperienced at this level and the exercises follow quickly. Than mistakes are made easily. I did not care so much. We got scores of 62 and 61% and it was a good experience for her.

Last but not least it was up to S
howboy. He has won the Dutch Z2 championships lately. I decided not to compete him at ZZ-licht level but at ZZ-zwaar level. He as well was quit impressed during the warming up. He stayed focussed and I looked forward to enter the ring :). We rode two nice tests and I had a great feeling. We never did two tests at one day so that was new. We had a mistake in the pirouette in the second test and we had a mistake in the tempi changes. Of course there is more to improve but what a dream début! I am so proud of him!!

At 11:40 PM we were back home and the horses could go in their own stalls. On Monday the have enjoyed a day off in the field!'
