Showboy wins final with a 10! El Ganador 2nd!

What a great day it was last Sunday! Marcel, Joyce and Stan left for the Dutch show in Schijndel with Showboy and El Gandor. Maddy would come later as she first had to compete her own horse at an other show and she won.

El Ganador (picture 2&3) had competed on Saturday already. On Saturday he has won and on Sunday he competed in the final for the Decor Son Cup.

Showboy (picture 1&4) had to show on Sunday for the first time at this show and he did his utmost best. He was a bit tensed but the test went really well. Both judges gave us 243 points and this meant a big victory and we were qualified for the final.

So El Ganador with Maddy and Showboy with Joyce did qualify for the final. Both horses are owned by Mr. and Mrs. Salden so this was very special!

First Maddy and El Ganador had to ride the final. El Ganador was so brave and very cool in the ring. There was live piano music and El Ganador just did his job.
Joyce had to go as last competitor. Showboy felt nice during the warming up. Actually, he was better than in the first test that morning. It was very excited to wait for the results.

All horses that competed in the final came in the ring for the prize giving ceremony. That started with the 7th prize. Pfffff.... so exciting! When they announced the winner of the third prize, Maddy and Joyce already were so happy! Maddy and El Ganador came second with over 72%. And... Joyce and Showboy scored almost 77% and won! Showboy even got a ten! for extended canter. There were many nines for travers, extended trot and the position of the rider.

On Sunday there were several students of Marcel and Joyce successful as well: Mandy Wilms and Apache came second at Z1 level! Stacey Bax has made her début at Z2 level and came fifth. Brenda Hendriks came third at Z2 level.

At L1 level Monique Verhagen came fourth and at M1 level Berdien Faasen came third. Sandra Faasen came sixth.

At the end of the day we all were very tired but very pleased with our horses which are safely in their stalls again.
