Pompadour: Vanquisch 2nd, Ubique 4th in freestyle!

Hallo every one!

This morning at 8:00 AM we arrived safely at The Beukenvallei. We have been several days to the international three star show in Pompadour in France. Yesterday evening at 7:30 PM we have left the show after a very good freestyle kur aboard Vanquisch!

Vanquisch (owned by Mw.G.Muller) already won the Prix st Georges on Friday. We had some bad luck in the Intermediare 1 on Saturday. For Vanquisch it was his first Intemediare 1 test. During the warming up Vanquisch was not in top form. He felt a bit tired and he was distracted. The trot tour in the test went really good but in the canter tour we had big mistakes in the zig-zag and in a pirouette. These marks count x2, so the score was not higher than 65%.

The best 15 combinations qualified for the freestyle kur on Sunday. I already had to enter the ring before the break. We did our utmost best and I was 100% focussed in my kur. It worked out really well, the music fit perfectly and the exercises went really well. Some could go even better but there were no big mistakes. We were very satisfied, the test was good! We got 72,750%! Till the end it was very exciting as in the end there were several really good participants to come. We came second! :)

Also, I competed Ubique. On Saturday we showed our freestyle kur. It was the first time we did this Grand Prix kur. My warming up was much better than for the Grand Prix. The kur went well, the counter tour was much better than in the Grand Prix and the passage/piaffe tour was much better too. I took more time to show these exercises and that worked out really well. Unfortunately Ubique spooked in the trot half pass to the right and we got a 1 for this exercise. Too bad as we normally can score really high for this. I was super satisfied when I left the ring and we came fourth with a score of over 67%. I gained lots of experience with Ubique these past days!

Right now we are home again and we can look back to a very successful week
. Vanquisch and Ubique both did a good job and have a day off today. Vanquisch spends the day in the field. In two weeks he will be competed at the Dutch championships. Authentic and Showboy will compete there as well.

M
alou joined us to Pompadour and helped us. And last but not least Stan enjoyed his stay in France this week as well!

Pictures will be online soon!

Many greetings,

Joyce
