Mandy and Kirsten successful at Hippiade

Last Friday two students of Marcel have competed at the Dutch championships, called the Hippiade, in Ermelo. Mandy Wilms and El Ganador showed at M1 level. This talented pair did a very good job and they finished second. So they qualified for the final on Saturday. 

So Marcel, Joyce and Stan, who had come to Ermelo to coach, stayed the night in Ermelo to support on Saturday as well. On Saturday the test of Mandy and El Gandor was good again but there was one big mistake in the transition to canter. This cost lots of points. Too bad but the rest of the test was good. Two of the three judges had this opinion as well and placed Mandy third but one judge placed her somewhere at the bottom. In the final results Mandy came sixth. Of course a nice result but it could have been better.

Kirsten Kaal and her handsome talented mare Evita competed at L2 level. On Friday the test was very good and they finished third. The pair qualified for Saturday as well. On Saturday the test was ridden in a different arena and Evita was very impressed by this arena. Despite this tension Kirsten did a good job and only the reinback was not so good. The pair ended up in the middle of the final ranking.
