Mandy and Apache fourth at Dutch championships

Mandy Wilms and her horse Apache have finished fourth at the Dutch championships last Saturday! The pair competed at Z1 level.

It was a very exciting evening at this championship. Mandy and Apache showed before the break and the best eight qualified for the second test. The first test was good but sometimes Apache was a bit tensed and that cost points. In the first test they came sixth so they qualified for the second test!

During the warming up for the second test Marcel helped Mandy and Apache especially to relax a bit more and that worked out really well! The second test was super. Apache did a very good job and Mandy was very focussed. The walk was much better than in the first test. The duo got a small mistake in the pirouette in walk and there was a miscommunication in canter. Apache touched the fencing, misstepped and went into trot. Too bad! But Mandy solved the situation really well and went on as if nothing had happened.

Than we had to wait for the points... very exciting.... Mandy and Apache rose from the 6th place to the 4th place in the final standings.  A great achievement and the gap between silver and bronze was small!

'I am really proud of Mandy and Apache! They have performed very well and super that the pair moved from the sixth position to the fourth. Now they will graduate to the next level, Z2. I am looking forward to it!' Marcel says.
