Great show in Odense!

Last Thursday Marcel, Stan, Showboy and I have left to CDI Odense in Denmark. I competed Showboy at this international show at small tour level. It was avery big show as the Grand Prix riders had a world cup qualifier and there was jumping as well. The show was held in the Congress center and the arena was very impressive. 

After a ten hour trip we arrived in Odense. Many many trucks were waiting to park so it took very long before we could unpack the truck. 
Showboy was very fit and we decided to give him some light work after we unpacked everything. Showie felt great and we had a good training. 

Friday evening late, 8.30 PM the vet check was on the program. It started 45 minutes later as there was a serious fall in the jumping arena. Showie got the safe word 'passed'. That evening at 10.30 PM we could train in the main arena and so we did. Again Showboy felt super and around 11.30 PM we were back in the stalls. We washed Showboy and cleaned the tack. It was a short night as the alarm clock rang at 5.30 AM. Our class started at 8.00 AM and I had to enter the ring at 9.00 AM. 

I had to go as ninth to ride the Prix St. Georges test and it was a super test! I was too careful in some exercises, for instance the pirouette. Anyway, we were very satisfied. It was a very big field and we got 70,8% and finished fourth. A Danish rider won the test and German Isabell Werth came second. On Saturday afternoon the world cup qualifier was ridden and we watched the winning ride of Dutch Edward Gal and Glock's Undercover. This pair did a great job and Dutch Adelinde Cornelissen and Jerich Parzival came second. I went to bed early that day as the next day the Intermediaire 1 started at 8.00 AM and I was third to go. 

Like in the Prix St. Georges Showie was great in the Intermediaire 1 as well. I was not sure about the start of my first pirouette and that cost points but we were happy with the score: 69,7%. Again we came fourth in this big field!

I am very proud of Showie how he performed in the ring. I would like to graduate to Grand Prix level. In Odense I felt we are on the right track towards this goal. Sometimes I have to manege a bit more in the test so that he won't mix up small tour and big tour exercises but it went very well and I am very happy!!
