Great day in Baexem!

Today the provincial championships have taken place in Baexem, in the South of The Netherlands, in the province Limburg. For the Beukenvallei riders it was a very successful competition!

The day did not start so positive: VDB Carros Corleone had stepped on a stone and was not completely sound. Maddy would have competed him at M2 level but he stayed home. 

Fortunately Maddy qualified with another horse as well for these championships: she showed Beukenvallei's Cesj at M1 level. In the morning she had to ride the first test and the best two of each ring had to compete again in the afternoon.
Maddy and Cesj did a good job in the first test and the duo came second. So they had to go again later that day. Exciting!
The second test was even better! And... yes! Maddy and Cesj came champion of Limburg!! Now they are qualified for the national Dutch championships in Ermelo in September.

Two students of Marcel came champion as well! Joyce van Cranenbroek came champions at M2 level and Judith Deboughnoux won at Z2 level! Another student of Marcel, Iris Langeveld, qualified for the afternoon and came third in the final ranking.
All of them go to the Dutch championships in Ermelo as well. 

Unfortunately there was bad luck for Mandy Wilms: Mandy and Apache came fifth at Z1 level. She made two big mistakes in her test and that cost a lot of points. 

We have a few weeks to train towards the national championships and we will go for it!
