Grand Prix début Ubique!

October first Joyce and Marcel went to Emmeloord (The Netherlands) for the Grand Prix début of Joyce and Ubique! The pair got over 64%.

Joyce tells: 'It was very exciting to compete Ubique Grand Prix for the first time. At home and during the trainings at Anky's place it goes very well but that's not the same as in the competition arena... Anky advised to make this début a practise round as Ubique and I both are green in the Grand Prix. 

The warming up was really good. I was surprised it went so well actually :) But... the time schedule was delayed with 15 minutes and although it should not be an excuse it did not help to wait and walk.

It made me a bit insecure in the arena and I was not convincing enough. Ubique has a great passage but I left him a bit on his own in the ring. She we got a 6 instead of a higher mark which is possible for sure. The canter went well, especially the zigzag and the tempi changes. In the second pirouette Ubique changed canter and of course that costs lots of points. We got several eighths for trot half passes. 

So the conclusion is we both have to make lots of kilometres in the ring but we have made our début and Ubique is a super Grand prix horse!!
